Up 400 points, down 700 points, up 150 points. If you’re like me you’re getting motion sickness watching the roller coaster that is the stock market today. Many people are pulling out of the market altogether. This selling pressure is what makes it such an interesting opportunity.

But you may not know what or when to act. We’re all watching the market gurus on TV tell us what they did today… but by the time the interview is aired it’s too late to follow their lead.

A favorite guru around here is Jim Cramer. You know, the crazy guy on CNBC that does the Mad Money show in the evening. Now I call Mr. Cramer a crazy guy with all due reverence. He’s proven himself and now he’s having fun doing what he does well.

If you’re not familiar with him, for over 10 years Jim Cramer was a successful hedge fund manager and now he writes for RealMoney.com. Over the years he has developed a strict set of investing disciplines that have helped all kinds of people be successful through any market. He now trades on behalf of a charitible trust he created to show not just the sincerity in his statements but to help worthwhile charities.

Jim Cramer, a commentator, director and co-founder of TheStreet.com has created something he calls Action Alerts Plus. Basically before he makes a trade you get an email. It tells you not only what he’s trading before he does it but the rationale of his trade. You also get 24/7 access to his portfolio, showing the results of his staff research, they do all the legwork of investigating individual trades for you.

So, if you’re part of Cramerica or just want to get some insider information on how a Wall Street legend thinks, take a look at this trial offer.

You get a 14 day free, no obligation trial to Jim Cramers Action Alerts Plus sent to you via email. No cost, no obligation to continue.

If you like the program you can subscribe monthly for $59.95 or annually for $399.95 and get a hardcover copy of Jim’s best selling book “Stay mad for life”. To cancel, call 1-800-708-8569 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.. Outside the U.S. and in Canada, please call 1-212-321-5200.

This is a little different. At first glance you think it must be some kind of scam. And with all the “work at home” scams out there it’s good to be wary. Here is the self written description of the freelance site:

Go Freelance is a growing online community for freelance professionals and companies looking to hire skilled freelance experts. We have thousands of freelance and work-at-home jobs in the U.S. and worldwide.

So, how is this different from the thousands of job sites? There is no charge for employers to post jobs. This means smaller companies who need someone to do small jobs are willing to post their offers. Since the potential employees are paying a membership fee the company knows you’re serious and dedicated to doing the work.

It’s an interesting twist on how things normally work. And sometimes a twist is what makes things work better. The trial offer is for 7 days and costs less than $3. When I signed up there were several jobs for writers and a few for web design. Although the site has something of a ‘get rich quick’ feel to it, it has some good potential.

We’ve all been around the block a time or two by now with this issue. I’m sure you’ve experienced that sinking feeling in your stomach when you boot up the computer only to find your hard drive has died. Luckily, it only happens to you once. Then you understand the importance of having frequent and recent backups. You’ve probably bought a secondary hard drive for your system. Maybe, like me, you religiously create cd /dvd backups just in case of a double drive failure. Yep, you’ve learned your lesson.

Maybe… maybe not. I recently ran into a situation that hadn’t occurred to even me. And I have seen it all! :)
